On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel. You will stay at the sophisticated Casa Gangotena.

Take a tour of Quito’s lovely sights including La Compañia and San Francisco church. Enjoy fine views on the city and its surrounding volcanoes, and taste some Ecuadorian chocolate.

Today head north of Quito to the remote Mashpi Lodge, a cocoon of luxury amidst the Ecuadorian cloud forest. A place to trek down hidden paths, spot rare birds, meditate at a waterfall and relax with the sounds of nature.

Rise early to watch and hear a menagerie of birds sitting around the lodge. After breakfast you might opt for a hike in the forest, or head to the Hummingbird Garden. Enjoy the views from Mashpi’s unique Dragonfly aerial cable car. And when darkness falls, take a guided night walk discovering tiny frogs, snakes, insects and tarantulas along the trails.

After breakfast you will be transferred further north to the small artisan village of Cotacachi. Stay and dine at the beautiful La Mirage Hotel & Spa, Relais & Chateaux.

Today you will enjoy a short hike near the Cuicocha crater lake. This stunning area is home to hundreds of species of wildlife, including the Andean Condor. In the afternoon you will head to the famous indigenous market of Otavalo, a bustling place where locals buy and sell crafts and food. Dinner is served at your hotel’s restaurant.

Transfer back to Quito. From here, fly out along the equator to the pristine Galapagos islands, an archipelago full of astonishing and rare creatures. You will be taken to Pikaia, a luxurious hideaway in the highlands of Santa Cruz island.

Spend your days boating and exploring the archipelago, walk through colonies of nesting frigate birds, step around basking sea lions, watch blue-footed boobies perform courtship dances and snorkel with sharks and manta rays.
